Paddling at Faaker See: reed channels & Karawanken panorama
Stand-up paddling at Faaker See is an experience in itself. It’s the calmest lake in the region: motorboats are banned, only electric drives are allowed — so the water stays crystal-clear and still, even in high season. Paddle through the reed channels and a peaceful quiet surrounds you; at off-peak times, like the evening, the mood is at its best. On the open water the Karawanken panorama is mirrored, and the clear water lets you see right to the bottom. Our station sits at the Greenbeach (the former Tschebull-Bad), a free lake access point of the city of Villach with changing rooms and WC on site.
Tip: Early mornings before 9 a.m. the water here is often glass-still. Best time for beginners and photographers.
